Original job description

Help Shape Health Equity in Hamilton: Join Our Board

Hamilton Urban Core Community Health Centre is seeking a passionate, community-minded individual to join our volunteer Board of Directors.

For more than 30 years, Hamilton Urban Core has worked to address health inequities in Hamilton’s inner city. We provide accessible, inclusive and culturally relevant primary health care, community health and harm reduction services for people who face barriers including poverty, racism, discrimination and homelessness.

We are looking for an applicant who shares our commitment to health equity, social justice and community-based care - and who is ready to help advance the health and well-being of Black, racialized and other marginalized communities. A strong commitment to confronting anti-Black racism in health care and beyond is essential.

As a Board member, you will help guide the future of an organization grounded in dignity, respect, anti-oppression and the belief that everyone deserves care that responds to their lived experience.

We encourage applications from people with diverse lived experiences, perspectives and professional backgrounds - especially those who understand the communities we serve and want to contribute their skills to strong, accountable governance.

Ready to make a difference? Apply at hucchc.com/board-of-directors-applications or contact hucchcboard@hucchc.com for more information.
