About Qorsa
Qorsa is a Canadian post-quantum cryptography and cybersecurity company building CasQade - a crypto-agile security platform protecting sovereign government, defence, financial, and critical-infrastructure networks against current and emerging cryptographic threats. We are headquartered in Waterloo, Ontario, with a European subsidiary in The Hague, Netherlands. Our work spans post-quantum cryptography, explainable AI, AI-driven threat intelligence, cryptographic agility, hardware security, and distributed systems, with active engagements across Canadian defence, NATO, and allied partner organizations.
The Role
We are hiring a Senior Software Engineer to own the platform and reliability of SiQcure, our post-quantum platform for software supply chain integrity. SiQcure helps teams prove what is inside every software release, which cryptography it relies on, and whether it is ready for the quantum era, with results that anyone can verify.
Regulations such as the EU Cyber Resilience Act, with full requirements applying from 11 December 2027, expect companies that sell software in the EU to know exactly what is inside it. At the same time, quantum computers are expected to break much of the encryption software relies on today, likely as early as 2028–2029. Customers can only rely on SiQcure’s answers if the platform behind them is available and dependable, and that is the work you would own.
SiQcure runs on AWS, and we need the infrastructure, observability and release process to operate it reliably with a small team as we launch and grow. This is an engineering role with infrastructure ownership: you write Go, Terraform and some TypeScript, and you make standing up a new environment a repeatable afternoon’s work. At our size, the people who operate the platform also build it, so alongside infrastructure you’ll ship product work when the roadmap needs it, and everyone shares the pager. If you want infrastructure decisions to be yours end to end, this role is for you.
Responsibilities
- Own the Terraform estate: reusable modules and the promotion path from development through staging to production
- Run and harden our Kubernetes clusters: workload identity, network policy, secrets, upgrade cadence and cost control
- Build an observability stack the whole team trusts: metrics, traces, dashboards, alert quality and SLOs, including frontend performance and error monitoring
- Make CI/CD fast and trustworthy for backend and frontend alike: build caching, integration-test infrastructure, release automation and deploy safety
- Stand up and maintain frontend quality gates: type-checking, linting, unit and end-to-end tests, and bundle-size and performance budgets
- Maintain the shared component system and frontend tooling, and ship UI work when the roadmap needs it
- Ship backend features in Go when the roadmap needs it
- Lead the incident response process: runbooks, retrospectives and pager hygiene for a team where everyone rotates
What We’re Looking For
- Experience running production workloads on AWS with infrastructure as code, including living with the consequences of your own Terraform at 2 a.m
- Kubernetes in production: deploys, debugging and upgrades. Hands-on experience matters most
- Working backend skills in Go, or a language close enough to pick it up fast. You read application code to debug infrastructure
- Working proficiency in React and TypeScript. You can build and review UI changes, and you understand how a frontend is built, tested and shipped
- A habit of automating what repeats and documenting what doesn’t
- Clear writing: runbooks, architecture decision records and incident timelines that someone can follow under stress
- Excellent communication skills and comfort working across disciplines
Strong Assets
- Frontend build tooling and performance work (Vite, bundle analysis, Core Web Vitals, real-user monitoring)
- Security-sensitive infrastructure: key management, secrets management and compliance-driven controls
- Postgres operations: RDS tuning, migration safety, and backup and restore you’ve actually tested
- Accessibility depth
- Experience with Docker and observability stacks such as Datadog or Grafana
Compensation
We compensate well - a strong base salary plus potential for bonuses.
